Linkedin Conversion Tracking
For conversion monitoring on our website, LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland; “LinkedIn” uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag installs a special conversion cookie for LinkedIn in your browser to allow the cookie to collect the following information: IP addresses, timestamps, and page events (like page visits) are examples of metadata.
These cookies only have a short shelf life. We and LinkedIn can identify that you were taken to a particular page on our website after clicking on the advertising if you visit those sites while the cookie is still valid.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag enables LinkedIn to gather information about website visitors, such as the URL, referrer URL, IP address, user agent (the characteristics of the device and browser being used), and the time stamp. The IP addresses are either truncated or scrambled before being sent to LinkedIn (if they are being used to contact members using several devices). Within seven days, the direct LinkedIn member identifying numbers are deleted, pseudonymizing the data. Within 180 days, LinkedIn deletes the remaining pseudonymized data.
LinkedIn does not provide us with any personal information. It only provides summaries of information regarding the audience for the website and the effectiveness of the marketing. Conversion statistics are compiled using the data gathered by the conversion cookie. These let us know how many users have clicked on one of our ads and ended up on a page that has a conversion tracking tag. The retargeting feature offered by LinkedIn enables us to display adverts for our products and services to certain target groups outside of our website without being able to identify the user.
The use of personal data for advertising reasons can be set by LinkedIn users in their account settings.Your consent, as stated in Article 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is the legal basis for data processing. By turning off the marketing cookie function, you can withdraw this permission at any moment with future effects. Visit https://www.linkedin.com/legal/cookie-policy and https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy for further details on cookies and the LinkedIn privacy policy.
